Next Generation Nepal: May Update And Fast-Approaching Fundraiser
By Kate | Permalink | No Comments | June 16th, 2007 | TrackbackI recently received the May newsletter for Next Generation Nepal and I’m providing a slightly unnecessary summary here as NGN newsletters are now available online at the main website.
But it’s quite a good story so listen up anyway: Conor recently returned from a trip into the mountainous Nuwakot district of Nepal, where he located and notified the parents of no less than 21 children who had been trafficked or conflict-displaced; NGN co-founder Farid Ait-Mansour located the parents of 7 children on a trip of his own. The children whose families were identified were staying either at Dhaulagiri, the NGN children’s home, or the Umbrella Foundation, NGN’s local partner organization which cares for over 300 children total. To date, NGN has found the families of 48 children.
Keep in mind that NGN’s one-year birthday is fast approaching, and if you’re in or near New York, break out the party gear to attend the NGN Birthday Party/Fundraiser at Phebe’s. Tickets are $50 at the door, and you can find out more at the NGN website.
